2014 FOREST HILLS DRIVE
10th Anniversary Edition
J.Cole is one of the most influential hip hop artists of the early 2010s. His third studio release, 2014 Forest Hills Drive, is Cole’s homage to his humble upbringing in the small Fayetteville home with the same address. He dreamed of coming to New York City and helping his home and his mother with his music, and this resonated with me. I used this concept of looking up to the stars dreaming about the big leagues to make this 10th anniversary edition.
J.Cole would talk of looking up at the stars or away to see his future as a musician. I played off the idea, showing what would become his future after leaving behind Fayetteville: that being New York, Roc Nation, and becoming arguably one of the most influential musicians of the 2010s.
