AIRBNB X ANDY WARHOL

A Night at the Silver Factory: stay a night over at the former studio of the most famous pop artist, Andy Warhol. The studio on Union Square West would be restored to its former glory, with guests being able to learn how the eccentric artist made his best works and make art together of their own. At night, a party with other artists would be held, just like Warhol inviting the top artists of his time over to visit, make art, and party together.
Andy Warhol’s famous studio space has gone down in the history of art, New York, and counterculture. Utilizing photos taken and drawings by Billy Name, Andy’s longtime friend and photographer, I reconstructed what the Silver Factory looked like in its heyday, with added flair, extra pop-art-ness, and a little easier to navigate.Incorporating the branding for Airbnb came in the form of the color and logomark as a part of Andy’s pop art artwork. If he was around to help, I think he’d appreciate the commercial nature of it as a commentary. Or not. He was an odd guy. What does one do while living like Andy? Make some art and party! Activities would surround these themes like printmaking.Andy was well known for his obsession with Campbells Soup. To get invited to this exclusive Warhol experience, a special Cambells crossover can would do the trick. In the experience’s kitchen would be more soups so you could truly live like Andy: off of canned soup, if you like.Like the kitchen, every little detail would be extra pop-art and Warhol esque, down to the bathroom vanity. Callbacks to lesser known works of his, like his movies, add an extra depth to the experience.

Live like Andy became the slogan for the whole idea, what with trying to capture that Superstar, 15 minutes of fame energy. Who wouldn’t want to live like Andy?
